About Jammin Youth
Through the Youth Activity Scheme, the aim of the project was to portray young artists’ musical talents and offer them a safe and non-judgmental platform where they can showcase their talents, explore music through non-formal means, meet other youth who have the same interests, and work together to create future opportunities for themselves as young artists.
Through the use of music as an artistic medium, we promoted active youth participation by instilling three(3) principles; creativity, initiative and inclusion. Locally young artists and music lovers often face difficulties and challenges in portraying their talents publicly due to fear of judgment, and lack of opportunities and/or encouragement. Jammin Youth addressed the issue by providing a peer-to-peer learning
environment supplemented by professional mentorship, which lead to the organisation of a youth led musical showcase event performed by young and local artists of all levels.
